MECC American B52 Bomber’s Team Achieve 1st Winner Mechanical Modelling ITS

Blessed expression was showed on Wira Irawan (Mechanical Engineering 2015), Adil Rasyidi (Mechanical Engineering 2015), and Haryo Bagus Budiawan (Mechanical Engineering 2015) due to their success of getting the first winner on Mechanical Modelling Competition, Mechanical City ITS. Mechanical Modelling Competition is a contest who has been conducted by Mechanical Engineering of ITS and it is a part of annual Mechanical City Competition. Mechanical Modelling Competition by theme “Innovative Ideas for Paddle Wheel Aerator to Optimize Fisheries Product” was conducted this year. Because Paddle Wheel Aerator that currently distributed is not a local product therefore required an innovation from college student to innovate Paddle Wheel Aerator which already existed. Paddle wheel aerator that was enclosed on this competition got innovation on aerator’s surface angle that has furrow to create a turbulence and manufactured by 3D printing’s method.

Initially, Wira’s team deliver letter of submission and product design, after passed an elimination round on February 5-12th 2017, they are be qualified to get through to the next stage with 4 another team from different university. Continues with prototype’s construction, presentation, animation’s video related to the product design of paddle aerator that has been devised before. And presentation stage is conducted on April 14th 2017. Utilizing 3D printing’s method for manufacturing process. Finally, announced that UGM’s team achieve the first winner of this Mechanical City ITS.

“There was still much to do, still required to conduct advanced research, like processing the oxygen that we hadn’t compared product which already existed with real condition in embankment.” Said Wira Irawan as the chief of MECC American B52 Bomber’s Team when asked about the follow up of this product.
